One of the most important
Judo Championships starts today

FEV 12th

FEV 15th, 7:42am The last day of the Paris Tournament, Sunday, didn't have actions of the French judo, that finish some with only one medal of gold on all the weekend gone up.
A small medal of bronze for Fanny Riaboff in less than 57 kilograms came to be added to the eight conquered at the time of the first two days. This result places France in sixth position, far behind Japan, Italy and Spain that constitute the trio winning.
A disappointing balance to several points of view according to the national technical director, Fabien Canu.
" This is not a beautiful balance, it is the less that one can say. And not only as for the number of medals. What disturbs me, it is not to have seen any more youngsters benefitting the opportunity. If one must renew the team of France, there are a lot of uncertainties again..., he declared.
The DTN doesn't forget some for as much performances of Ferrid Kheder and Guillaume Strong, two newcomer in the category of the less than 73 kilograms, respectively winner and finalist of the tournament, or of Anne-Sophie Mondière, third in less than 78 kilograms whereas she comes exactly out of the junior.
" It is not necessary to carry definitive judgment as much. We need to send these youngsters in tournament to toughen them and to facilitate their bursting. But us avonc not of time to lose. Otherwise, we had eight leaders to the infirmary and the tournament never knew an as raised " international involvement, moderate Fabien Canu.
Eight leaders injured, certainly. But others were beautiful and well there and didn't shine hardly on tatamises of Coubertin, to the picture of the champion Olympic Marie-Claire Restoux - also double medallist of world gold - or of the champion of the world Christine Cicot, far of rostrums.
" I am less worried for the sure values that miss themselves. One knows what they are worth ", reassure the DTN.
To less than three months of championships of Europe, to eight months of the World of Birmingham and in the perspective of Olympic games of Sydney, the danger is however there.
" We took of the delay the past year, where we have maybe less follow-up our athletes. After Atlanta in 1996 and the World of Bercy the following year, it was about one year of transition. During that time, the other nations worked and passed before. It is necessary to catch up the lost " time.
The countdown is triggered.
